The Picture I Couldn't Post
It amazes me what kids will or won't eat! Look at their pusses after eating rhubarb fresh from the garden!Two days left of school--and I have my progress reports completed! Hurray!
Sadness at one of my schools--the father of one of the students was one of those killed in the plane crash in Lake Michigan!

Rhubarb always looks so good, and isn't. Did this father have more than one child? The maintenance person in my building has a daughter who is the dispatcher for UM Medical Organ Transplant team. She is having a difficult time. So many lives altered in an instant.
Our friend Marcys husband is a helicopter pilot for the Survival Flights at the U of M, he knew all of them. So far I think he seems to be doing ok, but he is an Iraq veteran, so I guess it isn't the first time he's had to go through it.
It's amazing in an event like this--it's like the Kevin Bacon thing - everyone knows someone who's somehow connected and the fingers of grief reach out in so many ways and so many directions. I'm not sure if there are other children. The school and the family are doing all that they can to ward off a media circus.
