Rebel With a Cause?

My principal must be a rebel with a cause this morning. And we have school because??? Everyone else in Michigan is closed this morning because of the extreme cold--the closing list is a mile long. But not us. And this for only a half day. It's the end of the quarter and so the kids will only be here for 3 hours. I get the point--that our kids don't use the bus system--and aren't facing the dangers of waiting for the bus--but what's the point? I'm sure we'll have many rebels that don't come to school today anyway. I think it's going to be a pointless day.

How cold there? It is -13 here in Sunbury, OH. I think the reason for school is the fact that it IS the end fo the quarter. :-( My local school district had already scheduled the day off and last day of first semester was yesterday. It is a teacher workday so they still have to show up unless they got notified otherwise and I would not know about that since I was not scheduled to sub.

Politics always seem to play a role somewhere in these things. At least its only a half day, but I agree with you, I'm guessing there won't be a lot of learning going on today :)

I take it back. It was a great morning for my Caleb (my autistic student). He finished up a poem he's been working on, and so we published it. We made several copies and he was so proud to give copies to the principal, secretaries, teachers, etc. That was worth the cold drive in today! Maybe his poem will be tomorrow's blog.
