Loving Detroit?

Nephew Matt has been attending school and living in Detroit since late August. He is a student at Wayne State. He has really enjoyed the Detroit scene and has even been thinking about staying in Detroit for the summer and working at Tiger Stadium. He was about to begin tutoring in Mexican Town (He had volunteered there because he had a car and could get there while other students would not be able to.) Notice that I said "had a car". Yesterday his car was stolen! Has the bubble burst, Matt? I hope you're not too discouraged and that you will hang in there for Detroit! The city needs people like you to be excited about it!

I can't say I wasn't waiting to hear how the car vanished. Detroit has come so far, yet not far enough. Hopefully it won't keep Matt away, sounds like a smart and determined guy!

This was a good lesson in reality - just a painful one. Oh those life lessons!

No he parked it off campus at a friend's house so he could be as he says "frugal" and not spend the $2 per day parking structure cost
